Our Services

  • Friday Evening Shabbat Service 6:00 pm: There is one Shabbat evening service each month, with a break over the summer months. 

  • Saturday Morning Shabbat Service: Congregational Shabbat Services take place at 10:00 am, only on those Saturday mornings when Bar mitzvahs or Bat mitzvahs are scheduled. Everyone is welcome to attend these Saturday morning services. Please contact the office if you would like to attend.

  • Festivals: In addition to the High Holidays, services are held on the last day of the following festivals: Passover, Shavuot and Shemini Atzeret (which takes place on the second-to last day of Sukkot, the day before Simchat Torah)

  • Other special events include a Holocaust Education Week in November; a Passover Seder for the congregation and guests. Congregation Habonim also celebrates Simchat TorahHanukkah and Purim with family oriented programs and celebrations. Check our Recent Events and our collection of Photos & Videos and more.

  • Yizkor: Yizkor for departed family members is recited on the following days:
  • Yom Kippur
  • Passover
  • Shavuot
  • Shemini Atzeret.                                                                                                                              
  • Yizkor is recited on the day of Yom Kippur, on the eighth day of Passover, on the second day of Shavuot, and on Shemini Atzeret (which takes place on the second last day of Sukkot, the day before Simchat Torah).
  • Mourner’s Kaddish & Yahrzeit (Anniversary of the passing of a loved one): At the service on  Friday nights, Kaddish is recited for the Congregation’s departed.
