Federal Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Toronto Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie and Holocaust survivor Nate Leipciger were among those who delivered remarks at the opening of the Toronto Holocaust Museum.
Habonim members played a central role in the establishment of the new museum, including Dr. Naomi Azrieli, CEO of the Azrieli Foundation, founding donor of the museum, and Dara Solomon, Executive Director of the museum, both of whom delivered moving remarks at the opening.
The Toronto Holocaust Museum was designed by local architecture firm Reich & Petch. The firm was founded in 1987 by Habonim member Tony Reich along with Whit Petch.
