Kim Doron
Kim Doron
Associate Cantor & Music Leader

In her role as Associate Cantor at Habonim, Kim Doron leads High Holiday services and contributes her musical gifts to many Shabbat and festival programs throughout the year.
Kim has been delighting audiences with her singing since the age of ten. Accompanying herself on guitar, she has performed at venues across Canada and the United States and participated in numerous musical theatre productions.
She brings years of experience as a music educator and children’s choir director — leading programs in schools and camps, conducting the junior and senior glee clubs at the Leo Baeck Day School, and directing Habonim’s Youth Choir for several years. Kim also served as the musical director on multiple March of the Living trips.
Coming from a deeply musical family, Kim is the daughter of world-renowned Cantor Paul Kowarsky, who served at Toronto’s Beth Tzedec Synagogue for over two decades. His compositions and recordings are sung worldwide. Learn more at paulkowarsky.ca.
Those who attend Kim’s services and programs at Habonim experience her warmth, soulful voice, and natural ability to connect with both children and adults. She is a beloved member of Habonim’s exceptional music team alongside Senior Cantor Rabbi Aviva Rajsky.

Thursday, Nov 20th 10:30a to 12:30p
With inflation, the housing crisis in Toronto and the buckling of our shelter system, the need to help the marginalized has never been greater. Once again, we are coming together in the Habonim kitchen once a week throughout the cold months to make sandwiches and snack bags that we will then deliver to Seeds of Hope for distribution. They do some amazing work with those living 'rough' but they are having trouble keeping up with demand. So come as much or as little as you can, but come! If you would like to help, please register. -
